The Aggies (4-2, 2-1) also easily played Alabama closer than anyone this season, with the prior closest game 24-7 over Florida State in the opener. They also averaged just 1.2 yards per carry, and their only touchdown prior to the one in garbage time came on a kickoff return for a score in the first quarter.

Alabama, however, is not Louisiana-Lafayette, Arkansas or SC - and save for perhaps No. 2 Clemson no one is close to Alabama halfway through the regular season.

"My biggest disappointment is we're ahead 24-3 in the game and we didn't finish the game", Coach Nick Saban said.

Alabama's defense was shutting down Texas A&M.

However, the Crimson Tide defense came up with the deciding plays on the Aggies' ensuing possession.

ALABAMA AS THE NATION'S NO. 1: Alabama has played 80 games as the nation's top-ranked team since the inception of the Associated Press Poll in 1936. Saban said that while the Tide won, they knew from the beginning, that this game wasn't going to be a blow out.

It is scary to think, especially after the two blowout wins over Vanderbilt and Ole Miss, that Alabama could potentially be just as strong on their second and third teams, as they are with their starters. A&M's subsequent drive: sack for a four-yard loss, incompletion, incompletion, run for a two-yard loss, sack for a 14-yard loss, a delay-of-game penalty and then a 5-yard run on third-and-31. The offense and defense both lead the SEC in a number of statistical categories, including fewest points allowed and most points scored.

Foster caught a pass on the left sideline and sprinted toward the middle before making his way to the end zone. He completed 13 of 22 passes for 123 yards and a touchdown. Only Tennessee RB John Kelly (494 yards) and Georgia's Nick Chubb (480) have rushed for more in the SEC. Although his passing numbers rank him outside of the top 10 in the conference, he is still yet to turn the ball over.

Can anyone stop the Tide from rolling?

The Crimson Tide (6-0, 3-0 SEC) sacked Mond four times in all and won the turnover battle 3-1 paving the way for the win.

Unfortunately for A&M, the Aggie offense was in a bigger funk, going scoreless on seven straight possessions including two drives that ended with lost fumbles and two that ended with turnovers on downs.

The Tide outgained A&M 355-308 in total yards, including 232-71 on the ground, but the Aggies outgained Alabama 162-110 in the second half.

At Alabama, Stallings had a 70-16 record, which included the 1992 national championship. They're the number one team in the country for a reason.
