In his time as the Broncos' chief decision-maker, Elway has often shown an affinity for players he has seen work at the Senior Bowl, including Von Miller, who was Elway's first draft pick on the job in 2011. But he did more than enough this week to keep up momentum from a memorable Heisman Trophy season.

"Yeah, we'll see. I've got a bunch more meetings tonight", Mayfield replies.

"Everybody wants to portray the bad boy, the Johnny Manziel stuff, but I love the game of football, " Mayfield said. Among the former Cowboys to play in the Senior Bowl were: running back Jim Crawford in 1957, running back Jerry Hill in 1961, and running back Jim Kiick in 1968.

Baker Mayfield isn't here for the games. Mayfield also drew criticism for planting a flag on the field after a victory over Ohio State and making an obscene gesture toward opponents during a lopsided victory at Kansas.

Mayfield was off target during the first half of Tuesday's practice but was sharp the second half. Then third down and red zone (Thursday).

"Some of these kids coming out of college, really don't have quarterback one-on-one", Giants general manager Dave Gettleman said. "Don't be surprised if somebody falls in love and trades up to go get him".

"Guys who can take the teachings from day to day and from the classroom to the game, that's important".

The Browns are coming off of an 0-16 season and the worst two- and three-year stretch in National Football League history that has seen them win four games in three seasons combined but he explained why he's confident he is the player that can change that. When you find one, it makes everybody better.

While prospects will battle for a leg up this week, a defensive player without a hand made a strong first impression. Given a what-if scenario of the Broncos signing a top free-agent quarterback like, say, Cousins, Elway wouldn't double down and take another quarterback with their No. 5 overall draft pick. Among the games was a series of boxes that displayed one color but asked the prospects to call out the different color written within the box. He had all kinds of quirks that could be stressful for the coaching staff and front office.

His big goal for the week, he said: "Prove that I can belong".

"There's one thing I know how to do and that's win ballgames", Mayfield said. "It's a tough process, too, so just being around them, being relaxed, just talking to them man to man, it's good". "That's not a bit deal", Joseph said. It's more the footwork from the center that we're working on.

The Bills are keeping their eye on this year's class of quarterbacks during the Senior Bowl in Alabama.
