Olympics-Ice Hockey -Germany stun Canada to make first final

It's uninspiring. Nobody wants to talk about it. If that previous sentence is a little hard to digest, German head coach Marco Sturm agrees.

Mr. T added: "I know what you are doing and I understand the athletic ability that it takes".

Consider the success of the South Korean women's curling team at these Olympics - and the effect its surprisingly strong showing here will have on the continued growth of the game in Asia. And the day before Canada and the Czech Republic will compete for bronze awards. And it won't be easy.

The epic game ended a 20-year drought, with a 3-2 win in overtime and an eventual shootout.

But the gold medal game wasn't meant to be easy for either team.

The United States had to replace not one, two but all three of their goalies after losing gold in 2014 at Sochi.

Macek scored Germany's first goal - he's now got two goals and an assist in this tournament - 14 minutes into the first period, giving Germany a 1-0 lead and Canada its first indication that this wasn't going to be the night they were expecting. Canada won four gold medals in freestyle skiing and two in figure skating - where it has seven overall. A victory by this team might give some young German kids the notion that someday they might be able to do this, too. And the Americans - based on their body language and their play - couldn't have cared less.

They will face Canada coming off a stunning 4-3 loss to Germany in the other semifinal.

Rooney said she's been told it's important to stay calm under pressure.

"We didn't start the way we wanted".

"We will not have the results during the tournament", general secretary Horst Lichtner said Saturday, "but what we hear from the broadcasters in very positive".

The country only started playing as the Czech Republic at the 1994 Olympics. More than that, the US has eight gold medals, and half of them came from snowboarders.

And here is what they did: They won the USA championship, beating those selected instead of them, to force their way into the program that directs funding to teams with the best chance of success.

The general manager of Canada's national programs, Melody Davidson, said she understands why the hockey star did what she did.

"It's as disappointing as it gets right there", said Canadian defenceman Mat Robinson.

Shuster gets the credit for making big shots as the skip, but every member of Team USA came up with big shots at a big time.

Olympic Athletes from Russian Federation had no trouble in their semifinal matchup against Czech Republic, skating to a 3-0 victory.

Canada was in a similar situation in 1998.

Silver medals? Yuck. So very yuck, in fact, that, after the US women's team scored an epic, gold medal-clinching, 3-2 shootout victory over their chief rival Thursday in the PyeongChang Games, one Canadian player could not chuck her cootie-laden silver medal quickly enough.

Finland may be onto something. The second period wasn't even over and they'd made it hard not to hate majority.
