Tom Brady's lackluster performance at the 2000 NFL Scouting Combine remains a fond memory for Patriots fans. Desmond Harrison (Western Georgia) and Brian O'Neill (Pittsburgh), among others, had terrific days.
Its the 2018 NFL Combine and the athletes were ready for their close ups.
Of course, with Cleveland being non-committal when it comes to the quarterbacks, they could take Saquon Barkley first to make sure they get him.
"I think Kerryon Johnson, early in the second round, would be a great value pick".
As much as Saquon Barkley impressed, Oklahoma's offensive tackle Orlando Brown disappointed. Not a bad way audition for the 233-pound running back who could be the face of the franchise the Browns desperately need. That type of athleticism and strength is rare. He threw for 1,812 yards, 16 touchdowns and six interceptions in 11 games during the 2017 season while completing just 56.3 percent of his passes. It is that simple. "I'm so eager to learn about the game, learn my craft, get into a system, learn from a savvy vet, pick up the small details to improve my game".
According to Bleacher Report's Mike Freeman, an National Football League assistant coach told him he would punch himself "many, many, many times" in a sensitive area for the opportunity to pick Barkley. Factor in top-end speed and it is a unsafe combination. Both the Giants and Colts have been rumored as trade back candidates. Barkley stated he will be down to 230 by the draft which he feels his more comfortable weight. Then, it was time to show off his speed. LSU wideout D.J. Chark was named the MVP of Saturday's Combine after a 4.34 40, but Penn State's tight end wasn't far behind. He turned some heads, no doubt. But still, these are bananas numbers from Barkley. The Jets, especially if they move on from Austin Sefarian-Jenkins, could really benefit from him in their offense. One of those prospects is local star Mike Gesicki from Penn State.
